communication principles

this week we learned good communication principles i liked all the role playing we did i would suggest in next classes to have more role playing practice no matter how goofey it is it does give experience. i learned how to take conversattions deeper than the weather lol. i learned that being sincere is the key to having the person trust you and open up letting the converstation go deeper still

special ed program

the special ed program is a great deal. we have completed the first day it was really fun me and my partner went into the gym and shot some hoops. although there wasnt much verbal connection there was still the connection like i was doing things with him. he was very appreciative he said thanks and i told him i would see him friday. i think friday we are actually gunna talk instead of just playing ball

teen leadership !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

key factors to teen leadership. i think that confidence and practice are essential. the more you are in a leadership position the more comfortable you will be in that situation. i know from personal experience that practice makes you more comfortable. like that first speech we did i was nervous but i was prepared so that helped me alot. as in the second speech i wasn't prepared and it showed i didn't do well as in this last project i had done some serious preperation and this practice i did well.

in the heat of the problem solving

we are in the heat of brainstorming and solving problems we have just made surveys that ask the students to rate the social gap in different areas of the school. i think it is going  to be hard to get them out but we can do it after we get them back we will have to collect all that data and make a conclusion on ideas. we already have the idea of buddy system pen pals seminar activities and selling food at lunch i think we are going to go forward with the seminar activities it seems like the most reasonable and interactive

the beginning of our groups

we just wrapped up a little practice section where we would have fake problems to fix. now we have to put it into action and solve a major problem in our school. the group i choose was the gap between special education and general education i choose this because i myself knew that i was weak in the area and knew being in this group would help me and all the others like me create a better environment for all the students in our school. we have not done much other than just the basics of problem statement  code of cooperation and a couple survey ideas we need to get going time is ticking

Pdsa intro

we were just introduced to the pdsa model of problem solving it set in very well to me because it was introduced in the example of  monsanto seasonal workers. This was a very relevant topic and i was able to relate and make connections to this new program because of my knowledge on the problem they happened to be fixing. I think this gave me even a better understanding of the problem solving technique rather than the example of kitten sales in a county pound i would not of been able to connect as well. so over all im am very excited to start using this new problem solving model

week 9 law of choice

this week tim jones came in to talk to us i thought it was really good. there were two big things i still remember the first one is that we can alter our day so quickly by our choices we make we can choose so many things it amazed me when tim said he had made like 600 decisions from 6 to 1 thats only the first half of the day. the other big point he made was the story of the CEO and the butter patty. something as simple as a 10 cent butter patty blew it for this guy he had a six digit salary coming and he let a 10 cent butter pattie get in the way. that to me shows how important every decision is
